Nutrition that actually fits your life.
You do not need another meal plan you will follow for three weeks.
You need to understand what your body needs, what is getting in the way, and how to make nutrition work in your actual life.
Our 1:1 Dietitian Nutrition Coaching combines evidence-based nutrition with a functional nutrition-informed approach to help you improve your health without making food your full-time job.
Whether you are navigating midlife body changes, blood sugar concerns, digestive symptoms, metabolic health, or simply want to feel better in your body, we start in the same place:
Start with your Nutrition Evaluation Session
75 minutes | $199 | Virtual
Your first appointment is an in-depth session with a Registered Dietitian.
Before your visit, you will complete a comprehensive intake so your dietitian can review your health history, symptoms, medications and supplements, eating patterns, lifestyle, and goals.
During your appointment, we will put the pieces together and create an individualized nutrition plan with clear, realistic next steps.
Your plan may include personalized nutrition targets, food and meal recommendations, sustainable habit goals, supplement suggestions, and recommendations for additional lab testing when appropriate.
The Nutrition Evaluation Session is a standalone service. There is no requirement to enroll in ongoing coaching.

What do we
work on?
Your nutrition plan is individualized to you.
Depending on your needs, we may work together to:
Nourish your body
Make sure you are getting the protein, fiber, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, and minerals your body needs to function well.
Address the bigger picture
Explore nutrition and lifestyle factors related to unintended weight gain, insulin resistance, prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, PCOS, digestive symptoms, IBS, autoimmune conditions, and other health concerns.
Support metabolic health
Build sustainable strategies for blood sugar regulation, body composition, muscle preservation, cardiovascular health, energy, and healthy aging.
Make eating healthy easier
Turn nutrition recommendations into meals, grocery lists, routines, shortcuts, and habits that actually work with your schedule.
Stop starting over
Nutrition does not need to be perfect to work. We help you build an approach that can survive restaurants, vacations, busy weeks, holidays, and Tuesday nights when absolutely nobody wants to cook.
Why month-to-month?
We do things a little differently.
Many nutrition programs require you to purchase several months of coaching before you have even met your dietitian.
We would rather earn your continued business.
Start with your comprehensive Nutrition Evaluation Session. Meet your dietitian. Get your individualized plan.
Then decide whether ongoing support would be valuable to you.
If it is, stay for as long as coaching is helping you move forward.
No giant package. No long-term contract. Just individualized nutrition care and the level of support you need right now.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
No. Your Nutrition Evaluation Session is a completely standalone service.
You will receive an individualized plan with clear next steps that you can begin implementing on your own. If you decide that you would benefit from ongoing guidance, accountability, and adjustments, you can choose to continue into month-to-month coaching.
There is no obligation to do so.
-
Our goal is for you to leave knowing what to focus on and why it matters, rather than with a giant list of things you suddenly need to do perfectly.
Your individualized plan may include:
Your most important nutrition priorities
Personalized protein, fiber, calorie, carbohydrate, or other nutrition targets when appropriate
Recommended nutrition strategies or a therapeutic dietary approach when appropriate
Sustainable habit goals
Meal and food recommendations
Supplement recommendations when appropriate
Suggestions for conventional or functional lab testing when appropriate
Clear next steps for putting your plan into action
Exactly what is included depends on your health history, symptoms, goals, and individual needs.
-
All Nutrition Evaluation Sessions and ongoing coaching appointments are virtual.
Appointments are conducted through our secure telehealth platform, so you can meet with your dietitian from home, work, or wherever you can find a comfortable, private space.
Because dietitian licensure requirements vary by state, availability may depend on where you are physically located at the time of your appointment.
-
When you click to book your Nutrition Evaluation Session, you will be able to learn more about our Registered Dietitians, their areas of expertise, and their availability.
Choose the dietitian who feels like the best fit for you and your goals.
-
You do not need to decide before your Nutrition Evaluation Session.
Your dietitian can help you think through how much support would be useful based on your goals, the complexity of your plan, and how independently you would like to work between appointments.
As a general rule, monthly coaching works well for people who want expert guidance and accountability but feel comfortable implementing changes independently.
Twice-monthly coaching offers more frequent support and is often helpful when you are making several changes, working through more complex concerns, or simply know that more accountability helps you follow through.
-
If you decide to continue into Monthly or Twice-Monthly Dietitian Coaching within 48 hours after your Nutrition Evaluation Session, you will receive a $100 credit toward your first month. You will receive a coupon code in your Nutrition Evaluation Visit Note that is valid for 48 hours.
That makes your first month:
Monthly Coaching: $200 for your first month, then $300/month
Twice-Monthly Coaching: $450 for your first month, then $550/month
Your Nutrition Evaluation Session remains a separate $199 service and is not counted as one of your monthly coaching appointments.
-
We do not think you should have to purchase months of nutrition coaching before you have even met your dietitian.
Your Nutrition Evaluation Session gives us time to understand the bigger picture and gives you an opportunity to experience our approach before deciding whether ongoing support makes sense for you.
If your plan feels manageable independently, great.
If you want help implementing it, troubleshooting it, staying accountable, and adjusting it as you make progress, that is where ongoing coaching comes in.
-
The Functional Kitchen is a private-pay nutrition practice. We do not bill health insurance directly.
If your insurance plan includes out-of-network nutrition benefits, you may be able to submit documentation for possible reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend checking directly with your insurance company.
HSA and FSA funds may also be eligible for nutrition services depending on your plan.
-
Your dietitian may recommend conventional or functional lab testing when it would provide useful information for your care.
The specific testing options available will depend on your individual needs, location, and whether testing is appropriate. Your dietitian will discuss recommendations, costs, and next steps with you before you purchase any testing.
-
No.
If you already have recent lab results that are relevant to your concerns, we encourage you to upload them before your appointment so your dietitian can review them.
If you do not have labs, that is completely fine. Your dietitian can determine whether additional testing may be helpful after reviewing your history and goals.
-
It can be, but weight loss is not the only reason people work with us.
We work with clients on body composition, metabolic health, blood sugar, digestive health, PCOS, midlife nutrition, muscle preservation, cardiovascular risk factors, sustainable eating habits, and other nutrition-related concerns.
If changing body composition is one of your goals, we can absolutely address it. We approach weight management through the lens of overall health, adequate nourishment, muscle preservation, metabolic health, and habits you can realistically maintain.
-
That is exactly why we start with a comprehensive 75-minute evaluation rather than handing you a generic plan.
Your dietitian will review your health history, symptoms, medications, supplements, eating patterns, lifestyle, labs when available, and goals before making recommendations.
Nutrition care is provided within the dietitian's scope of practice and is designed to complement—not replace—care from your physician or other healthcare providers.
-
As long as it is useful to you.
There are no long-term coaching contracts. Your membership is month-to-month.
Some clients need more intensive support for a period of time and then transition to monthly visits. Others reach a point where they feel confident working independently.
The goal is not to keep you in nutrition coaching forever. The goal is to give you the knowledge, skills, and support you need to eventually need us less.
