Sheet Pan Nachos

We love nachos. But let’s be real—most nacho recipes are either too snacky to be a real meal or so overloaded they leave you feeling like you need a nap.

This version? It’s the perfect balance. Protein-packed, veggie-filled, and ready in about 20 minutes. These sheet pan nachos serve four, and they’re customizable enough to work for picky eaters, busy weeknights, or casual weekend hangouts.

What You’ll Need

  • 1 lb ground turkey or chicken

  • 1 packet fajita seasoning (or taco seasoning)

  • 1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed

  • 1 to 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 bag of tortilla chips

  • 1 bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 small onion, sliced

Optional toppings:
Plain Greek yogurt, salsa, avocado, guac, shredded lettuce, jalapeños, cilantro—you get the idea.

How to Make It

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F.

  2. Brown the ground meat in a skillet and add fajita seasoning.

  3. On a sheet pan, spread out the chips. Layer on the cooked meat and black beans.

  4. Sprinkle cheese over everything and bake for 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden.

  5. While the nachos bake, sauté the peppers and onions.

  6. Pull the nachos out of the oven and top with the veggies and any toppings you like.

  7. Serve and enjoy!

A Balanced Meal (That Doesn’t Feel Like a “Health Food”)

Here’s why this works:

  • You’ve got lean protein from the turkey or chicken.

  • Fiber from the black beans, avocado and sautéed veggies.

  • Plenty of flavor from the cheese, seasoning, and toppings.

  • And you’re not skipping the chips—because a little crunch makes everything better.

This is the kind of meal that feels fun but still leaves you feeling good afterward.

Make It Your Own

  • Use rotisserie chicken if you’re short on time.

  • Try different beans or cheeses depending on what you have.

  • Set up a DIY topping bar and let everyone build their own plate.
